Location

Playa Tamarindo is a small, bustling beach town with mile long beaches, crystal waters and adventure at your doorstep. Central to all activities in the area, Villa Cimatella is perfect for a tropical vacation that feels like a true get-away while being close to life’s little necessities, just in case reality peeks into your magical vacation.

Supermarket

There are several supermarkets in the area with Auto Mercado being the most well stocked along with nearby, Mega Super. Tamarindo also has two organic stores, a weekend farmers market and a fabulous outdoor night market once a week.

Medical Services

Local Beachside Clinic, in both Tamarindo and Huacas, is open 24/7 and is staffed with knowledgeable, bilingual doctors, dentists and lab technicians. They are affiliated with CIMA Hospital in Liberia and San Jose.

Drugstore

There is a pharmacy located at the main turn off to Villa Cimatella, plus many more throughout the area. You’ll find our local pharmacists friendly and knowledgeable.

International Hospital

Privately owned CIMA Hospital is 50 minutes away near the Liberia airport, and their larger, main hospital is located in Escazu, San Jose. Both have air and land transport and work with worldwide insurance companies.

From Liberia Airport (LIR)

Daniel Oduber International Airport, Liberia (LIR) is the closest international airport to Villla Cimatella. Your travel time to the house should be about 1.5 hours, give or take a pothole or two or the classic traffic jam of herding cows.

From San Jose Airport (SJO)

Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) is the largest airport in Costa Rica. Your travel time to Villa Cimatella will be about 4 hours, give or take monkey sightings, roadside market shopping or a stop to see the legendary Macaws.

Domestic Flights

Local Tamarindo Airport offers in-country jump flights with both Sansa and Nature Air. Don’t worry if you didn’t have time to go zip lining these small planes usually double as a thrill ride in themselves.

Roads

The main road to Villa Cimatella is paved, but renting an SUV is recommended as we are only accessible via a dirt road which will add an air of adventure in getting to your luxury hideaway. Waze and Google Maps are local favorites when it comes to getting around Costa Rica.

Car Rentals

Many major car rental agencies in Liberia and San Jose have outposts in Tamarindo which makes it convenient when you accidentally bring your car keys surfing with you.
